The Demise of a Shidduch
Well, despite looking perfect on paper, and both parties having had a great time on the first date, both have declined a second date.
?????
It seems to me the reason was that the guy didnt think she was pretty. ("information" says she is, so she cant be a dog.)
Isnt that a little superficial? I mean, sometimes after a time or two, a person's looks grows on you. Isnt it worth at least a second date? Especially since EVERYTHING else lines up?
Ah, well, there goes my first attempt at shadchanus. I dont think I will try this again so soon.

Welcome to the sick, sick world of Shidduchim, Mega.. And if she was attractive in his eyes, her bank acct wouldnt be large enuf for him.
And then when she has a few of HIS children and gains weight, he is veiter not happy..
her dad has a huge bank account. that is what i meant when i said everything lines up...
Please don't stop your involvement in shiduchim because of this.Assuming he wasn't intrested only because of looks it means you'r a pretty on target shadchan.

I agree with anon.. please don't give up... for one, you were pretty close. And second, looks are important to most (if not all of us) and if he felt she wasn't 'pretty' that is a legit enough reason.
As an aside, sometimes a boy or girl doesn't think it's a match, but can't put their finger on what it is, but they are sure they are not interested, so they may say it's about looks. I know it sounds awfully shallow, but that is why making a successful shidduch is so difficult.
You are doing it for the singles out there not for yourself, so please don't be discouraged because one did not work for whatever reason. Please keep on trying and with syaddtah d'shmaya you will be matzliach.
